Dear Athletes,
The weather is forecasted to be partly sunny and 60 degrees early race morning, and warming up throughout the day with 67 degrees forecast for noon and a high of 71 degrees for the day.
We are finalizing registrations and need relay teams to add their team names and team members by logging into the Athlete Center.
Everyone, please also double-check your registration information, especially your date of birth and gender. We want to make sure all athletes are in the proper wave starts.
While you are in the Athlete Center, go ahead and add a message or information you would like to share by using the Bio link. We hope to use this as you cross the finish line.
The Lake Whatcom Triathlon is USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned this year so an annual membership or one-day license is required. The one-day license is included with your registration so there is no additional cost, but you will need to sign the USAT waiver online prior to packet pick-up. USAT Annual members will be required to show their current membership card. Photo ID is required for everyone at packet pick-up.
We are looking forward to a GREAT day!!!

USAT WAIVER

For athletes that need a one-day license, it is included with race registration if you sign the USAT waiver online prior to packet pickup. If you need to sign a paper waiver at the race site, the cost will be $15.

Login to your Lake Whatcom Triathlon Account to submit your USAT waiver.

  • Bike course signs are blue arrows and flour on the ground.
  • Stay to the right, unless passing on the left, once you make the pass, get back to the right.
  • You will (make a left turn towards North Lake Whatcom Park) and literally go to the very end of North Shore road to the turn around, please make sure your number is visible for the volunteer to see and write down your number.
  • Flaggers will be posted at each intersection and course marshals at a few key locations on course.
  • One aid station at the Fork restaurant. Heed and Water available.
  • Olympic Racers will make a right turn at Y Road. There will be an aid station and course marshal directing you up the hill.
  • Sprint Racers will NOT make that right hand turn and instead continue on Northshore drive heading back the same way you came out.

  • (Olympic Only) There is a volunteer at the turn around on the Railroad trail, make sure you have your number visible for them to see.
  • There will be 3 aid stations on the run.
  • For Olympic racers, you pass by your 1st and 2nd aid stations twice, giving you 5 aid opportunities total. The aid station at the top of the stairs (4th aid) will only have water and gels. Heed, Hammer Gel and Water will be available at all other aid stations.

  • Course update 1: The run starts and finishes a little differently than last year. You will run out along the gravel trail and return across the grass allowing safer passage through the parking lot.
  • Course update 2: There is a new trail that switch backs down to Woburn street that all racers will follow. We will have arrows directing racers with a right hand turn onto the new trail (Approximately Mile 3.9 for Olympic. Approximately Mile 1.6 for Sprint). At the bottom of the new trail, make another right hand turn onto the paved sidewalk (Woburn Street).
